Awesome sail and great evening

Great ride over to Hadley. The davits are working really well. Feels like the boat flies without towing the tender.

Off to ACK on the fair tide at 0530. Hoping we'll get better than the 5 to 10 NOAA is preaching.

Super calm here in Hadley, we love this place. Have Jess and the kids aboard for the night and ride to Madaket tomorrow. Kids are all lumped together on the settee watching a movie on Jess's laptop.

Closing in on week one "in the Harbor"

Tomorrow is Friday - Kids have loved sailing in the NBYC program this week.  We're heading to NH to see Matt and Stace for their Birthdays.  Should be a fun weekend.

Work continues on the boat - Lex, T and I have been scraping and sanding the toe rail.  Port side is ready for sealer tomorrow.  I stopped in at Concordia for some varnish advice.  Nice folks there.

Had supps at the club with Forrest and his mom last night - lots of laughs - we need to start a new blog for hair salon photos.  I leave that one to Forrest.

Boat is looking better with some new jib sheets, Main sheet, dinghy painter and traveler lines care of Marlow.  Thanks again!

Replaced the remaining cabin lights that weren't yet LED to LEDs.  One of the fixtures was wired with backwards polarity....LED only works one way - Tim must have told me that at some point....

Blowing a stink this eve.  Glad to be on a mooring.

All is well.....

Delivered Bob's boat back from Padanaram to Newport yesterday with a stop at Cuttyhunk for a surf session. Guys trip only with Tyler and Bob. Surfed the Eastern side of Barge Beach for half the session. Pretty steep take off over some rocks. It was clean and chest high. Great evening. Thanks to M for a great supps and spacious accommodations!

Lex's Birthday weekend

John and the kids planned a fantastic birthday weekend for me, and I had a great time! We left Friday afternoon in blazing sunshine in the convertible with the roof down. Liza had instructed John to pack me a bag of snacks of my favorite things, which included salt and vinegar chips and Toblerone ofcourse! We arrived at the hotel,Renaissance Inn in the Seaport, around 5 and then walked to the North End for dinner. After pizza at Regina's and dessert at Bova's, we waddled thru the new (to us) parks along Atlantic Avenue, back to the hotel. On Saturday we took a guided tour of Boston from the Common, ending at the State House. The guide was great, and even though the tour was very crowded, and it was about 90 degrees, we all enjoyed it and learned tons. After a quick Mexican meal and Margarita in Fanueil Hall, we went to the movies to see the new Harry Potter in 3D. I loved it, probably my favorite Harry Potter movie. After, we went back to the hotel to shower and get ready for dinner at Legal Seafoods Test Kitchen. When we walked into the restaurant, I was VERY surprised to find my parents already at the table. They had driven 5 hours from Maine for my birthday, needless to say I was very touched and happy. We had presents at dinner, and ate and drank plenty, and I had a wonderful evening. My parents were staying at another hotel, but we met them again for breakfast on Sunday morning before they headed back to Maine. After breakfast we took a tour of the Constitution, which we've always wanted to do, and were very impressed with it. I was particularly interested in seeing the cabin woodwork, as my violin is documented as having been made from a cabin door taken. After not finding any birdseye maple, I asked the tour guide about it. He explained that it was very possible that Birdseye maple had been on the boat at one time as the wood inside has been replaced several times. Apparently every time the Constitution prepared for battle, all cabins were torn out and the wood sold. When the ship returned to port, they would be re-built. After the tour, we left to drive back as we were expected at the Foxes for dinner. We had a very nice visit at their house, the Davenports were also there. Nan and Betsy had a cake and presents for Willy and me, as he had just had his birthday as well.

Thank you very much to my wonderful husband for planning such a fantastic 40th birthday weekend for me. It was exactly what I wanted and he made me very happy. I love you very much!!

WIFI Antenna Up and Running - First two weeks

Finally Got the Wifi rolling this evening.  I am still going to be calling on Tim for some third level tech support for powering the PoE box with DC instead of running through the inverter.

We had a good shakedown and covered the Southern Mass Great Loop - (Padanaram, Cuttyhunk, Edgartown, Nantucket, Chatham, Hyannis, Cuttyhunk, Padanaram)

Great times on the ride with the Marstons, Williams and surfing the Brothers Shea and Principal Kevin.  Lots of great waves, a few too many rum drinks and a great jam session aboard Zusammen.

Back in the Harbor continuing on boat projects - rebedded the port side granny bar and added a power port to the cockpit.

Off to Boston tomorrow for Lex's Big day!

Cheers!
