Residence Inn, Mt. Pleasant

We moved the boat yesterday to the City Marina Boatyard. Even though we weren't heading south, it was a relief to be actually on the water again, and away from the dock! After we tied up, we packed up and got a cab to the hotel. Although we're here under adverse circumstances, it is nice to be on land for a bit. There's a breakfast buffet each morning which the kids love of course, unlimited waffles and pancakes! I brought all our school work, so the kids are now doing their work as I write this. John is continuing to manage the boat process, and is doing an amazing job. He just left to pick up the rental car and head to the boat yard to make sure the boat has been hauled. This afternoon the plan is to go to the pool (75 and sunny out) and maybe the beach. At this point we are unsure how long we will be here.

Now that you have wheels, head over to Folly beach to surf or Mt. Pleasant, station 19 to paddle. There used to be a great place in Mt Pleasant just over the bridge called Shem Creek (I think) for she-crab soup....and oysters yum!!

A drive to Kiawah Island will give you a new view of the SC Low Country...rich and poor!
